I will focus on the double standards, and hypocrisies that are present in Scarlet Letter and The Great Gatsby. There is a very clear sexual doable standard in Gatsby. With Tom flagrantly cheating on Daisy, yet expecting Daisy to be loyal to him. There is also a clear hypocrisy in The Scarlet Letter. With the puritan society being so vindictive and so eager to ostracize those who differ form there idea of Holy. This being so contrary to the teachings of Jesus.
I will look at the fragility of society - many things we live with every day we take for granted or don't understand; others are completely absurd things that we would never take a second glance at. The presentation will take a close look at how Frankenstein, The Catcher in the Rye, The Great Gatsby (and possibly The Scarlet Letter, though unlikely) illustrate this idea and question our everyday lives and ideas.
I will deal with the unjust sufferings of the main characters in The Great Gatsby, The Scarlet Letter and Frankenstein in my oral presentation. All of them are unfairly accused. They all serve for these mistakes.
For my oral presentation I will focus on the theme of abandonment as it relates to the characters in The Great Gatsby, Frankenstein and Scarlet Letter.

In my oral presentation I will examine the concept of inditement in various texts. Using Frankenstein, Scarlet Letter, Gatsby, and Catcher in the Rye I will examine who it is the author choses to indite and how they do this.
I will focus on status and what it means in the books Scarlet Letter, Great Gatsby, and Catcher in the Rye. All of these books have the common theme of being recognized highly in society, so I will focus on linking that theme together.
I will look at the acts of society and the false images they have of each other and the world in Catcher in the Rye, The Great Gatsby, and, Frankenstein.
My oral presentation will consist of an investigation and reasoning to interpret the 'real antagonist' in the books in which this is vague, particularly Frankenstein, Catcher, and Gatsby. However, I will acknowledge the idea of antagonism in Scarlet Letter, and relate it to the other books. I will use reasoning to prove my findings and show how my idea of antagonists in each book is correct and/or feasible.
